Step 4: Amend the draft corporate plan

Stage 3

How do we measure our progress?

The action required by council to amend the draft corporate plan will depend on the issues and suggestions raised by the Community and how council chooses to respond to them.

In most cases this would be a straightforward process. Council would consider the relative merits of any ideas for improvement to the corporate plan document as well as any flow on effect in the budget, operational plan and other planning documents.

Step 4.1 Amend the corporate plan to reflect feedback

In most cases, council will have anticipated the likely responses from the community as result of the environmental scan, SWOT analysis and other considerations during the strategic planning process. In these instances, any amendments to the corporate plan will be minimal.

However, during the consultation process, issues may be raised that have not been adequately addressed in the corporate plan. On these occasions council may need to gather more information and analyse the options using one or more of the techniques outlined in Stage 1 - Review strategic direction.
