Rural Women's Symposium 2008
In March 2008, the Premier Anna Bligh and Minister Warren Pitt announced plans for three annual regional women's symposiums beginning this year. The 2008 Rural Women's Symposium will be held on Thursday 4 September in Roma.
The theme for the Rural Women's Symposium is: 'Liveability - A Woman's View'.
The purpose of the symposium is to develop ideas and create solutions to improve the 'liveability' of rural communities for women. Information gathered at the symposium will be used to develop projects and initiatives that will support the attraction, re-attraction and retention of women into rural communities.
Regional Consultations
In the lead up to the Roma symposium, we invited women to have their say about life in rural and remote communities and have an opportunity to contribute to how the discussions for the symposium will look.
Information gathered through the consultation process is being use to inform discussion for the Roma symposium.
