Novel coronavirus (COVID-19)

The Queensland Government remains committed to keeping Queenslanders informed and advised on Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The Department of Local Government, Racing and Multicultural Affairs is available to engage with representatives of communities affected to extend its support and gauge community needs.
It is important that all Queenslanders continue to visit the Queensland Health website for the most up-to-date-information, which is also translated into several languages.
In the current circumstances it is more important than ever to recognise that we all belong, and we face this situation united as Queenslanders.

Stage 3 of the Roadmap to easing Queensland’s restrictions started at midday 10 July, meaning you can welcome more of your communities to worship onsite, face-to-face in your spiritual homes. The department has developed a factsheet (PDF, 64KB) to which explains what this means for you. |

Multicultural Affairs is reallocating grants and funding during COVID-19 to support all Queenslanders through the COVID-19 pandemic response and recovery. |

As part of the Multicultural Affairs COVID-19 Community Support package, the Department of Local Government, Racing and Multicultural Affairs provided funding to Griffith University’s Centre for Interfaith and Cultural Dialogue to connect government and faith leaders, share key health messages and lessons learned, and explore how support for vulnerable groups can be improved in the face of a crisis such as COVID-19. The project included a virtual forum held on 28 April 2020 with approximately 20 faith leaders and representatives from government and non-government agencies.
